Batchelder and Abigail Garland Brown were among the early settlers of Moultonborough. They built their first home across the lane from our bed and breakfast. The oldest section of the present day house was built by the Browns in the 1790's.

When the family grew, their son made the bricks for an addition from clay found by the stream that now bounds the property. The brick building was constructed in the early 1800's. The farm remained in the Brown family until the middle of the twentieth century.

Jo and Clark Hills fell in love with and purchased the bed and breakfast in 2003. Now Jo runs the inn with the help of a new four-footed innkeeper's assistant, Moose, the curly-coated retriever, and her friends. They are delighted to invite you into their home.
